A demonstration will take place this afternoon from 4 PM to 6 PM.
The route is as follows:
Start at 5th & Hill (Pershing Square); They will head Northbound on Hill to 4th;They will head Eastbound 4th to Spring and head again Northbound on Spring to the Ronald Regan building ending at 300 S. Spring St.
LAPD will be doing rolling street closures as this group heads towards 300 S. Spring St.
The information we have at this time states that the group is opposing recent proposed budget cuts that would affect schools and various state agencies.
We have also been informed several of these state agencies and schools (both High School and College) have planned walkouts throughout the day regarding these proposed cuts.

On Wednesday, Febuary 24th, a Fresh & Easy market opened at 1025 E. Adams Blvd., at the corner of Central Avenue. The store, which is about 2.5 miles from the Ralphs Fresh Fare in South Park, is the centerpiece of a new mixed-use development that includes affordable housing units, which will debut later this year.
If Downtown residents are not accustomed to driving south for groceries, Ninth District Councilwoman Jan Perry sees a shift coming.
I think it's going to change peoples perspective on their neighborhood from north to south and one of the reasons I think it's going to change is because of the architecture of the building, Perry said. It,s open, it's inviting and very contemporary and spare in an elegant way.
